2003 LEO BURING CLARE VALLEY RIESLING

This gold medal and trophy winner from the recent Melbourne Wine Show offers flavour and finesse at a modest price. It's the product of yet another superb riesling vintage for the Clare valley. The colour's pale straw with green highlights; the aroma is fresh and pure, resembling fresh-squeezed lime juice; the lime flavour comes through, too, on a delicious, dry, exceptionally fresh and very fine palate. Like so many rieslings of this calibre, Buring 2003 appeals now for its bright, fresh fruitiness and has potential to develop a honeyed richness with prolonged bottle ageing, given cool dark cellaring.
